New publication in The ISME Journal coauthored by Logan Hodgskiss and Christa Schleper:
Metabolic potential of Nitrososphaera-associated clades
Ammonia oxidizing archaea (AOA) have been well studied in the last two decades due to their prominent role in the nitrogen cycle. However, there is a lack of knowledge about some of the most environmentally abundant strains. In this paper, high quality metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) have shed light on the potential genomic capacity of AOA clades that have remained elusive until now.
