New publication from Zink et al. in Nature Communications: "CRISPR-mediated gene silencing reveals involvement of the archaeal S-layer in cell division and virus infection"

Isabelle Zink, Kevin Pfeiffer, Erika Wimmer,Uwe Sleytr, Bernhard Schuster and Christa Schleper have published their latest work in Nature Communications, entitled: "CRISPR-mediated gene silencing reveals involvement of the archaeal S-layer in cell division and virus infection" .

Isabelle, Kevin and the team set out to decipher the vital and often enigmatic roles of the proteinaceous outer layer of archaeal cells, the so-called S-layer, by investigating cells in which the respective genes were silenced by our previously published CRISPR-mediated gene silencing tool. Their exciting results offer crucial insights in the role of the S-layer in cell division.
